  First of all, it’s not ‘others’ property, it’s their own house! Secondly, she didn’t say they did it on purpose- I guess not every child is as graceful and agile as yours, Mr. Collins. I’d also guess that Juli is more concerned with raising happy,active children than maintaining a model home. I have corners in similar condition from my husband and kids propping laundry baskets. Looks like crap but at least they’re trying to help!

  Mr. Collins here obviously doesn’t have three boys and two dogs. for your information there was a gate there to keep them all out of the kitchen when I was cooking. said gate tended to get swung around giving the corners absolutely no chance. and they look quite nice now that I’ve fix them. but I certainly agree with Melissa Winicky, you are a douchebag for that comment.

I’m with Marcus on this one… We have 4 kids (4 to 12), and that much damage to your walls is not normal kids playing. We’ve had some kids like Juli’s (OP) over to visit, and they don’t think twice about throwing cars, the remote, or anything they can get their hands on. When one broke a picture window the attitude was “we were just playing…” and parent’s attitude was “that’s why you have insurance”…

  yeah well at the time of destruction mine were 14 months 3 and 4… a little different than a 12 year old bashing up walls you incredibly insensitive and judgmental… *person*. you don’t know my children or my parenting (or apparently social cues). why are you on this site at all if your children are such little angels? to make yourself feel better about yourself? once can only assume…

  Yo…why don’t you and Marcus pull those self-righteous sticks out of your asses? First of all, I think it’s an absolute shame when condescending pricks have 4 kids and through example teach them to be judgmental because, the last thing we need is 4 more smug jackasses running around. I’d rather deal with 3 more clumsy people on the planet. Second, I happen to have had Juli and her three kids over to my father’s beach house and I was pretty damn shocked at how well-behaved they were, especially for three boys that age. And she kept an eye on them, kept them in check, and manged to hold a pleasant conversation with me, all at once. When you don’t know people and you make rude assumptions about them, 99% of the time, you’re the jerk, not them.

Sometimes it is just a matter of sanity. When my twins were 2 I let them bring their tricycles in the house during the winter. We had a perfect track through the kitchen dining and living rooms. They were careful but my husband and I were realistic that the room needed to be painted anyway.

You’ll need a bit of drywall joint compound on those corners. Paint alone will lead to corners that look like they’ve been chipped then repainted.
When I read the title, I was thinking “Boy doesn’t like the Time Out Corner, so he bashed it all up”, along the lines of the broken Time Out bench.

I have replaced our side wall 2 times in 4 years…and it was a stinkin baby gate to keep the kids outta the kitchen while the stove was on tearing it up! I wouldn’t visit soccer guy or mr. collins house if ya paid me. Probably has plastic over the couch cushions!

We had this at my house too. Baby gate are rough on corners, as are boys ( i have 3 also), and dogs. Try those plastic corner guards. I put up clear ones, and I was nice to have that little extra protection there….
