Put Pork Rinds on the Grocery List

My 14month old twin girls got into the pantry and began dumping stuff out. The 2 gallon barrel of pork rinds was the most fun. They don’t clean up easily either!

Most definitely more regional, as in it’s Southern fare.  It’s a taste that if you didn’t grow up eating it, you probably won’t like it…fried skin.  ‘Nuf said!

Not really regional.  Popular in the Southwest, too.

You need a dog ASAP!  My dog wouldn’t have left a crumb behind.  Perhaps with twins you should go to the shelter and get two!

And I’m in the north and we eat them too, mostly because we used to have cracklings as kids and this is the next best thing.

People eat them in the UK and Australia too and probably many other places.

      They’re probably all fat bastards.

Potato crisps aren’t really any different.  There’s no excuse for eating them.

who has 2 gallons of pork rinds? hello, obesity!

I second the dog idea…..my 2 dogs would have left no evidence behind at all.  The only thing they won’t eat are green beans, lima beans and cherry or grape tomatoes.

You people are fools, and don’t know what you’re talking about. Those in the south know that pork rinds have about 1/2 the fat AND 1/2 the calories of potato chips.  1 serving of pork rinds is like 80cal and 5gm of fat. Lays potato chips is like 160cal and 10-11gm of fat.

    They are really good.

Obviously it was a bulk purchase, and I’m pretty sure they last just about forever. Or rather, they would have, if they hadn’t gotten dumped all over the floor 😛 And dogs really are great for these types of messes, my children know now that if they spill food, the solution is just to call the dog over because “she wants to help clean up” lol although I’m not sure how 2 gallons of pork rinds would go over in a dogs system (or rather how it would come out!! :P)

Looks as if your girls know how to have fun with food products!  Yay!

You had a 2 gallon barrel of pork rinds in the house? Glad your baby saw it fit to waste it.
