Damn you, Handy Manny hammer!

Worst idea ever to give a 2 year old a set of Handy Manny tools!  Stupid.

OMG! I don't know how I would have been able to control my anger!

Anger? Um, the child is two. Not really understanding the whole cause and effect concept.

Because it's a TV and it was a TWO year old who has no connection of consequences verses actions. However the mothers do! She was right, it was HER fault not the child's.

    “It was *YOU* dad, OK?
    I learned it from *YOU*!

Go ahead and buy him drums. Get it over with.

Just because a child is small it does not mean that the parent is devoid of emotion. Geez! I was super upset when my 2 year old colored my Great-great Grandmother's cabinet with hot pink marker. We just need to try to remind ourselves that things are just things and hot pink marker fades.

My son did something like this when he was just about 3. It was a 52 inch, LCD HD flat screen tv…not even paid off. We now have a projector instead of an actual television. They can throw whatever at the wall and it's cheaper to fix than the tv screen. You live and learn.

I'm the mother. I was more shocked than anything. We were stunned, absolutely stunned. I didn't yell at him. The poor kid was so upset after he did it, and really he's two. It sucks, but it's just a tv.

I made the same mistake, I think ours were Bob the Builder tools though, my three year old knocked a little chunk out of our glass door…(we had a friend who repairs windshields repair it, so at least it wasn't costly)…he also used the same tool set to dismantle all his other toys, my DVD player and a hair dryer…kids are never getting toy tools again.

Yeah, well my dad thinks it’s a great idea to teach the 3&5 yr old boys (starting about a year ago) to use his tools, INCLUDING POWER TOOLS. Mixed emotion – glad he’s learning to do it right, but….. really Dad? Really?

Something simular happened to me too, years ago, I just bought on payments a VCR plus, when said and done it would have cost 500.00, but with us, not a child but the act of weather and a lightning surge came threw the line and blew out the dang thing, can’t get mad at that force, a child is pretty much the same, they havent learnt yet, so you just got to take it as it comes and all things pass.

I guess child proofing means high up on the wall
